Split began out of a fundamental need to service metropolitan youth in introducing them to current methods and practices used in web product development. We understand there is a growing digital divide between new and emerging web technology and opportunities for metropolitan youth to understand and participate in the ever-changing web. SPLiT is an education program that was developed to provide students with all the tools necessary to spark their engines and encourage them become thinkers, contributors and producers of web technologies, thus bridging the gap. SPLiT partners with metropolitan charter schools and organizations to provide exciting in-school and after-school educational programs for students to form their own thoughts and ideas about multimedia and technology, and create. Students arrive to SPLiT as media and technology pedestrians, and depart as drivers on the super fast information highway! At SPLit, we pride ourselves in four-tier curriculum that also serve as our pillars, operating as the foundation from which a new batch of young minds will launch into the world of digital technology.
