Based in Detroit, Michigan, W.E. is the Executive Director.

Known as the Digital Diplomat™, W.E. Da’Cruz believes eCommerce helps drive economic development. She is the cofounder and co-owner of The Virtual Global Consultant (VGC) Group, a global digital consultancy that designs and develops eCommerce systems and mobile applications that help generate revenue online for entrepreneurs, companies and organizations.

Through the use of digital tools and technologies, she is responsible for helping to generate millions of dollars a year in at-will donations and business sales for VGC clients, with a special focus on African-based companies and faith-based organizations.

Notable accomplishments for Africa include launching a three-way partnership with the University of Michigan and a global shipping courier to provide market research to more than 30 African-based entrepreneurs; helping a Ghanaian-based beauty business increase average monthly sales from $2.5K to $15K by re-engineering supply chain to ship directly from Accra, Ghana and sell globally; and helping a Ghanaian-based ministry reach and engage new US followers and raise more than $500K in donations online in less than 3 years.

Globally, she has made an impact by helping to launch a London-based ministry online to reach and engage Kenyan-based followers and raise thousands in donations. Locally, she has helped launch a California-based ministry online and raised more than $400K in donations.

Appointed by the White House’s US Secretary of Commercial Services to the District Export Council in eastern Michigan, she continues to promote global entrepreneurship worldwide. She’s previously secured more than $30K in grant funds to travel to countries such as Malawi, Uganda and Ghana to teach digital technology to entrepreneurs.

As a thought leader in her field, she’s been invited to speak at high level events, such as the US-Africa Business Summit (Maputo, Mozambique), World Export Development Forum (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia), Africa Fintech Summit 2019 (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia), and DHL eCommerce Conference (Accra, Ghana, West Africa).

The VGC Group was awarded the “Employer of the Year” by the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2018 for their dedication to train and hire the next generation of digital entrepreneurs. Currently, she’s piloting a eCommerce digital incubator called Aftown Mall to help African-based entrepreneurs increase international exports of Made in Africa products; and launched a program called Export to Scale™ to help US-based businesses sell products and services around the world by leveraging digital technology.
